This collection of Anthesteria works includes compositions created in Some of them were released on various compilations, others were published by the author in his web diary and some of the tracks are released for the first time. All compositions are woven into a single semantic stream showing the cardiogram of the author's experiences. These are contours of images surrounding the musician during seven years of activity. Anthesteria is music of St. Petersburg - the dusky city Hunter’s Moon - Imagika - My Bloodied Wings on water and wind where most of the year one has to know Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp to keep warm.
The theme of Winter is heard in every composition of the album in one way or another. Winter is either already here or inevitably comes in the future. Whether it is the opening autumnal track "Eidolon II" or the track "Exodus" dedicated to the Chernobyl disaster.
This part of Europe knows what "nuclear winter" is… However Winter here is not only a sign of desolation and death. The CD is released in an edition of copies. This project has released two solo CDs, a collaboration work with Stalnoy Pakt, and a number of tracks on various compilations.
After this the project's leader George Beloglazov founded his own multimedia studio Phantomery Interactive and focused his attention on creating computer games with an unconventional author approach After releasing the appreciated game "Sublustrum" "Outcry" filled with the spirit of decadence, steampunk and sombre surrealism, spring saw the release of a new psychological quest - "Phobos ". The action takes place in March in an abandoned Soviet bunker - a place of strange experiments on the human psyche.
The game explores such themes as the limits of mental possibilities, the electronic voice phenomenon, experiments with thought-transference and impact of fear on the human organism The game soundtrack, presented on this CD, embodies the project's concept in sound.
Imbued with an industrial atmosphere, leisurely Brighter Purple (Solid Sky Remix) - Solid Sky - Solid Beats turn into states of calm estrangement and isolationism. Excursions into the unknown corners of the consciousness bring to its surface old memories and long forgotten yet vaguely familiar images This musical picture is performed in the trademark style of Anthesteria Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp abstract dark ambient, melodic neoclassics and experimental sonic artifacts The release is packed in a DVD-size double cardboard sleeve with full-colour cards depicting game locations and fragments of a book about mental suggestions from Released in cooperation with 7Hz Publishing.
Like both previous albums, the new release continues to explore the ghostly dichotomy of inner and outer worlds, this time shifting the focus to the border of the known universe and beyond Unknown landscapes full of diverse acoustic phenomena are slowly unfolding before the aural gaze of the listener: from dense layers of synthetic sound and industrial samples to the finest emotional melodies, sensual female voices and echoes of a prepared koto.
Such a rich sound palette allows the musicians to create incredible images, in the intricacies of which listeners can spend hours each time discovering something new. Beautiful, delicate and complex cosmic dark ambient music Artwork was created by the St. Petersburg based designer Cyril Kazanov.
The first disc "Four Noble Truths" was released under the combined title of Bashin on the French label Athanor in and was dedicated to the basic principles of Buddhist teachings. The meditative and contemplative subject continues here as well, now being focused on the aspects of inner and outer space. We submerge in the dark thick matter of sound, fluid, transparent and stratiform.
Woven from abstract electronics, omnifarious samples and transformed voices, textures are smoothly interchanging, always showing new visions in the black mirror of our viewport. Makes you wonder - does the perceivable exist separately from the percipient? In any case this is dark, nocturnal, cosmic music, not devoid of epicism and dramatism. Worth having in your playlist for the next space travel! Initially the composer Eugene Voronovsky conceived 'Monochrome' as a futuristic 'hi-res' mass, an alchemical fusion of angelic chorales and dub techno pulsations.
A dream-like transparency of the material is deceptive in masking its technical complexity. Through reverberation the sound is "placed" into authentic space of the Great Pyramid of Giza; it's a meaningful reference for the album, entitlted in its draft by Enochian key of the alchemist John Dee The news of Vasiliev's tragic death caught the author in rendering the final mix.
Thus the meaning and the purpose of this year-long work were redefined. This is a collaboration album recorded by the projects Creation VI and Ugasanie and dedicated to several sacred places of Chukotka, such as the Whale I Love Breeze - Le Grand Orchestre De Paul Mauriat - I Love Breeze: Paul Mauriat On Stage Alley on Yttigran island and a collection of ancient rock engravings on the Pegtymel river.
Petroglyphs Truth - New Order - Movement on stones along rivers, bird colonies and herds of walruses, whale skulls dug in the coast hundreds of years ago Carpet Of The Sun - Renaissance - Scheherazade And Other Stories many images were captured in the sounds of this album.
Mouth harps and ocarins, throat singing, field recordings and transparent iridescence of cold creeping ambient, saturated with echoes of shamanistic rituals, cries of bird flocks and songs that the ocean sings to heavens, while playing on coastal pebbles The sound was remastered in specially for this edition.
The disc is packaged in a glossy 6-panel digipack with photographs of the Whale Bone Alley. Moreover, the compact discs with this music have prowled the outer space twice while being on board rockets launched from the spaceport America in New Mexico.
This happened for the first time in April "Legacy" projectand for the second time in May "Pioneer Flight" project. Cyclotimia's music obtained the status of the official soundtrack to both events It would be Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp exaggeration to say that this is their most accessible work in Pascal Leroc / Sam Crunch - Untitled good sense correlating with the best examples of such acclaimed masters of the "space genre" as Jean-Michel Jarre or Klaus Schulze.
At the same time the music on "Celestis" is in no way secondary, it is modern and quite craftily made From the opening theme "Capsula" the album's atmosphere plunges the listener into a world of spiritual Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swampcalls to take an imaginary space travel; fly towards Space along with the remains held in capsulas It's worth mentioning that the CD comes with a page booklet narrating about the activities of the company.
This release differs from the first Aus: Reisebilder – Italien - Martin Held - Heiterer Heinrich Heine as it contains an additional exclusive track "Another Time Another Place" - a minute "space suite" recorded by the project in According to the musicians, this is not a conceptual album dedicated to the economic term of Adam Smith.
In this case it's rather a metaphor "invisibly" linking together various compositions created during The album's program consists of ten polystylistical tracks combining such genres as "post-industrial", "minimal ism ", "dark ambient", "experimental" and "downtempo".
The main line is a connection between the "sacral" and the "futuristic", All Caps (Live) - Madvillain - 1.5 combination of a liturgical atmosphere and electronic music based on the above-mentioned styles A separate part of the disc belongs to a 20 min. Parts of vocal, classical string, wind and percussion instruments were recorded inside a dome of an abandoned radar station - a carbon fiber sphere 20 meters in diameter with a unique acoustic environment.
This monumental work tells about the malignant nature of the resource-based economic model in modern Russia. The project members more than anyone else are immersed into the magic of finance and probably therefore has their creative intuition allowed them to compose the main part of "Music for Stockmarkets" with its unforgivingly precise name "Wallstreet Requiem".
Today the whole civilised world is listening to this requiem the first cords of which were played on Wall Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp itself The "Music for Stockmarkets" album with its radically experimental nature stands out in the extensive discography of this Moscow project. The minute album includes 32 tracks divided into three conceptual parts: "Wallstreet Requiem" 25 minutes, recorded in"Trivial Pleasures" 26 minutes, recorded inthis part was the only one released as a seperate CD in and "Financial Glossary" 13 minutes, recorded in The music material itself is nothing like the one heard in the previous records of Cyclotimia.
Minimalism, academic sterility, surgical accuracy and meditative ataraxy prevail on "Music for Stockmarkets". Then again it Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp not the familiar "idm", "glitch", "noise", "clicks and cuts" and not "minimal techno" The sound of the album is chrystal-clear and warm at the same time.
Spaceship battles, alien colonies, teleportation and mysterious droid ceremonies are only part of the images created by this music. The album contains both dynamic rhythmic "hits" and disturbing space ambient as well as avant-garde neoclassic pieces. The music here is free of experimental and academic explorations traditional for the band; here the emphasis is made on the Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp component.
Inexorable like an economic recession and steadfast like a financial indicator chart, eleven compositions depict the sickly technogenic reality of the planet wrapped by networks of global capital, media glamour and ideological obsessions In the ancient Greek mythology Styx was the embodiment of primeval dread and gloom, from which the first living creatures emerged.
This was a personification of the underworld river whose pestilent currents seclude life from death Similarly to this mythic river, currents of credits, percent, funds, financial quotations, capital issues, barrels of oil and advertising spaces flow on the Cyclotimia album to the accompaniment of hard, sterile and atmospheric electronic music The material presented here is hard to fit in the Procrustean bed of common musical styles, but we can try to list the ingredients from which this post-industrial "dish" was cooked: both cyber jazz and idm, neoclassics and trademark technological ambient, old-school electronics and atmospheric new age, experimental and many more can be found here Despite the seeming stylistic incompatibility the band succeeded in creating a self-sufficient album with a spectacular plot no worse than a good Hollywood thriller.
A special jewel of the disk is the track "Nocturne" combining aerial melodies and uneasy sonic "cinematography". Also worth mentioning is the "live" minute prog-industrial suite "Economic Meditation", imbued with psychedelic dramatism Words written about the band several years ago remain true even today: "While actively using the possibilities of analogue and vintage equipment Cyclotimia creates unique soundscapes, suspenseful and sublime at the same time.
Not so many projects can successfully implement such impressively "cold" atmospheres and, despite being "technological", fill the sound with such a deep humanistic sense. He was the creator of the RWCDAX website which had certain influence on the mindset of many modern personalities of Russian post-industrial art The musical project DMT was established in and released by the end of the 90s several limited-edition cassette albums, lapsing afterwards into silence for a while.
In the mids the project was revived, had some successful live gigs and recorded a lot of new material, part of which is presented on this double-CD "Selected Funbient Works " Plans of this release existed for a long time but unfortunately were not implemented while the author was alive. His life cut short in the autumn of Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp album vividly displays the complex music world of DMT, which like everything innovative exists on the crossing of several musical styles and directions: from dark-ambient and industrial noise sketches to technoid rhythmics and pure sonic experiments.
The first part was released in - Sal Solaris "Die Scherben ". The new album is a tribute to Dmitriy Tolmatskiy who unexpectedly left us in Dmitriy was one of the few journalists who popularized the alternative culture in Russia.
Sending SOS (Bassmen Remix) - Various - XXXL 11 - Продвинутый mainly consists of compositions never officially released before, Highlights Gates - Ralax - Earthly Swamp from CDRs which Dmitriy gave to his friends. There are also a few tracks from the compilations he had time to participate.
Unfortunately not always were there notes and years of recordings. One track was digitized from an untitled audiocassette kept by the musician's friends in his native Bring Me To Life V.2 (Demos 2001-2002) - Evanescence - MP3 Collection of Saratov.
The album provides a glimpse into various periods Mon Père - Diane Juster - Mes Plus Belles Chansons DMT 's sonic experiments from to It also features fragments of a live performance together with Alexei Borisov in St. Petersburg in December For bandcamp users there is a bonus archive of three compositions.
