Sollo moved towards production is the 80s and also recorded several solo records before Mr. T - Melvin Ukachi - Evolution (Bring Back The Ofege Beat) being killed in a car crash in — the second motor vehicle fatality we have encountered. He is credited with playing lead guitar and Jupiter synth pictured aboveshowing how heavily involved he was in the whole LP. I love the interplay of the keys and drum machine on Come and Dance.
I have been getting heavily into the 80s Boogie scene in Nigeria and in my opinion it is easily the equal of the stuff coming out of the US. It sounds Turning Back - Various - Ibiza Dance and less formulaic. With the African Seven reissue of the aforementioned Jake Sollo album, I can imagine you will get more visitors to this page, eager to dig deeper into his production sounds.
Thanks for taking the time to comment and visit the blog. I will start the blog up again shortly as I have moved home and had problems with my audio set up. So watch this space for more hot Sollo action! You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account.
